Prevention Tips for Athlete's Foot
Monday, 08 February 2021 00:00Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection of the skin on the feet that can cause a scaly, itchy rash to develop between your toes. This infection is contagious and is often contracted by walking barefoot in damp places, such as showers, public swimming pools, and locker rooms, or from sharing personal items with an infected individual. To prevent athlete’s foot, it is recommended that you keep your feet clean and dry, wear clean socks, avoid walking barefoot in public areas, and keep your toenails clean and trimmed. It is also important to refrain from sharing personal items like socks and towels with an infected individual. If you suspect that you may have athlete’s foot, it is suggested that you consult with a podiatrist for treatment.
